Nick Sirianni has his fourth different offensive coordinator in his five seasons with the Eagles, this one coming from within the organization once again.

The Eagles announced they are promoting passing game coordinator and associate head coach Kevin Patullo to be their new offensive coordinator. The 43-year-old takes over Kellen Moore‘s duties, who was hired by the Saints as their next head coach.

It became clear deeper into the Eagles’ playoff run that Moore would be heading to New Orleans. It seemed all along that Patullo was in line for the job.

The Eagles finished eighth in yards and seventh in points this season. They scored 95 points in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl LIX combined, which is the most ever across a conference championship and Super Bowl.

Patullo has been with the Eagles all four seasons Sirianni has been here. Patullo was hired in Philly as the passing game coordinator in 2021 and was granted the additional designation of associate head coach in 2023.

With Frank Reich in Indianapolis, Patullo was the pass game specialist and before that was the wide receivers coach in 2018. Prior to that, he had different roles with Texas A&M, the Jets, Titans, Bills, Chiefs, Arizona, and South Florida.

It is safe to assume that Patullo will be calling plays in 2025. Sirianni originally called plays when he was hired, but handed the role over to Shane Steichen, which helped Jalen Hurts blossom into what he is today.

Speaking of Hurts, he is now on his ninth different offensive coordinator in ten years, which goes back to basically high school.

“[Patullo] would have a different role, so it’s hard to compare that role to this role because his job is going to demand something totally different of him,” Hurts said at locker cleanout day last week when asked about the possibility of Patullo being the next offensive coordinator. “I have a lot of confidence in him and what he’s shown. Over the years, I’ve learned that is out of my jurisdiction and so kind of just taking things as they come. Try to go out there and be the best I can be and just evolve.”
