Top 5 Speeches From Eagles Championship Parade

It was quite the party in Philadelphia on Friday, and the speeches did not disappoint.
Despite your local news station’s best wishes, seemingly everyone on the team let it rip creating a legendary atmosphere the entire day. Then we get to the art museum, where legends are truly made. You combine some absolutely hammered Philly athletes and a microphone and it’s going to make some moments the city will never forget. Which Eagle did it the best, however?
Here are my top 5 speeches of the day. Disclaimer: Hard list to make, everyone except the mayor absolutely killed it.
5. Jalen Hurts
Hurts has always never spoken much, but the Super Bowl MVP parade day speech was pretty solid. Jalen saying he didn’t want to come to the Rocky Steps until he was a champion is not only a sick thing to say, but the most Jalen Hurts thing he could’ve said. That and his moment with “Sayshawn Barkley” was just absolutely perfect.

4. Howie Roseman
Howie left it all out there during the parade and still delivered his speech despite taking a beer can to the head before. Hilarious moment, and an incredible speech from the best GM the league has to offer. What felt like it made it better was you don’t see executives get to show their personality to the public almost ever, so when a drunk and bleeding Howie Roseman takes the podium and yells “I bleed for this city,” it’s a special moment.

3. The “Exciting Whites”
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like this speech has been underappreciated by the media. The whole season, the way Reed Blankenship and Cooper DeJean have embraced the nickname has been so funny. Reed ended up carrying the speech as he got the crowd to sing “Dreams and Nightmares” with him in a great and underappreciated moment.

2. A.J. Brown
Your favorite analyst’s least favorite receiver let everyone know how he felt during his speech. “You can get all those things wrong about me, but get one thing right, I’m a f**king champion,” is one of the coldest lines I’ve ever heard in my life. Philly legend forever.

1. Landon Dickerson
Unanimous decision here, Dickerson absolutely killed it. He gave local newscasters heart attacks trying to keep their broadcasts clean, but they couldn’t stop Landon. Philly guy, and a legend in the making. I’ll let the speech speak for itself.

Honorable Mentions: Zack Baun, Nolan Smith, and Quinyon Mitchell
Not for their speeches, but for being the life of the party during the parade. Smith got some social media attention for at least 5 videos of him shotgunning beers going viral and I can attest that when he was where I was, he shotgunned 3 beers thrown at him by fans. Zack Baun was living it up to, he had to have drunk 3 at least when I saw him, looks like he isn’t going anywhere. Baun even signed a baby.

Quinyon Mitchell probably couldn’t see straight most of the parade. Rocking the Quintamino Bay hoodie, Q was taking full advantage of the moment and when asked a question by local news, simply responded “GO… EAGLES!”
