We are three days away from the Super Bowl LIX, and while there may be some sicknesses going around the Eagles locker room, the one outwardly affected the most fully participated in practice on Thursday.
After being limited in practice on Wednesday with an illness, Jalen Carter was a full participant on Thursday.
Carter has an illness that is going around through some of the team, Vic Fangio told John Clark of NBC10 after Carter did not meet with the media due to his bug for the second straight day.
Fangio said he believes Carter will be 100% by Sunday.
This Eagles defense needs Carter out on the field if they want to succeed against Kansas City or really any team. It is hard to imagine this bug will have him sidelined. But, of course, you would much prefer the guy not to be weakened by some sickness.
Meanwhile, Brandon Graham (elbow) and DeVonta Smith (hamstring) were both limited participants once again.
Graham has been on injured reserve since tearing a biceps in Week 12 but said on Thursday that he thinks “it is a go” for his final NFL game on Sunday.
Graham told reporters that his status for Sunday will be how practices. “[Wednesday was a good one, [Thursday] was longer one. But if it holds and everything goes well, I think it’s a go,” BG said.
Nick Gates, the Eagles’ backup center, also popped up on the injury report Thursday with a groin injury. Could he be placed on injured reserve to free up a spot for BG? Who knows.
Smith did not practice at all last week as the Eagles gave him a chance to rest his hamstring. It looks like they will be easing him back into action ahead of Super Bowl LIX, and that continued on Thursday as he was limited for the second day in a row.
Here is the Eagles’ full injury report from Thursday:
LIMITED: OL Nick Gates (groin), DE Brandon Graham (elbow), WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring).
FULL: LB Zack Baun (groin), DT Jalen Carter (illness), WR Britain Covey (neck), G Landon Dickerson (knee), RB Kenny Gainwell (concussion/knee), TE Dallas Goedert (ankle), C Cam Jurgens (back), TE C.J. Uzomah (abdomen).
For the Chiefs:
LIMITED: WR Skyy Moore (abdomen).
FULL: QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle), P Matt Araiza (illness), T Jawaan Taylor (knee).
