76ers skate by Wembanyama and the Spurs for win No. 10

There was no shortage of drama as the Sixers hit double digits on the win total this season, 111-106 over the Spurs.
Despite Joel Embiid being, let’s say, controversially, being ejected, the 76ers managed to continue this relative run of form they’ve been on as of late.
Tyrese Maxey — The Christmas present we all needed
Rain or shine, Maxey has proven to be a bright spot game in and game out. Tyrese was able to carry the load dropping 32 essentially without Embiid, notching 5 threes to boot.
To cut to the chase Embiids ejection wasn’t a good look for him or the officials. On one hand, it was childish of Embiid to chase her down the court over a foul call, it sucks but you should know that’ll get you tossed and possibly further reparations from the NBA. On the other, I don’t think it was to the point that warranted an ejection. Embiid overreacted, but the officials did too in my opinion. It’s not great, but it luckily didn’t cost the team a win because lord knows Embiid would never hear the end of that from the media if it did.
I don’t think this would be as big of a deal if Embiid was simply playing better. This has been a horrific season for Joel be it from injuries, poor performance, or whatever else will come his way next. His PPG has dropped more than 10, going from the top 2 big men in the league, to nowhere close.
Is there still hope?
Depends on how you look at it. On one hand, the East is terrible. Because of this, the 76ers could very well sneak into the play-in and from there the playoffs.
On the other, the Cavs, Celtics, and Knicks all sweep this team. The team had been in a loop of nothing happening. a lot of attempts to make a happen but it never did. Now something has happened, just in the opposite direction. The team stinks.
The biggest question remaining is with the risk of the whole team being blown up, will this squad rally like the Bucks have, or continue to crumble? A lot of basketball left to be played. Not an easy schedule coming up, but not impossible once you look past Boston. Here we go.
