After a disappointing loss in game 1, the Phillies offense and bullpen will look to rebound in an incredibly important game 2. In the Phillies long history they have never won a playoff series where they lost game one. While that has no effect on this current team, it’s pretty fair to say if they lose game 2 this series may just be over.

The Phillies turn to Christopher Sanchez in this game, over the more established Aaron Nola. The reason for this is that Sanchez has a 2.21 ERA at home this season, and a 5.02 ERA on the road. It is a risky decision made my manager Rob Thomson, especially already being down 0-1, but as we know he likes playing the numbers.

The Phillies are also benching Alec Bohm in today’s game. Bohm has struggled since returning from injury with just a .217 average in his last 30 games. Here’s how the Phillies lineup for game 2:

Kyle Schwarber DH

Trea Tuner SS

Bryce Harper 1B

Nick Castellanos RF

Bryson Stott 2B

J.T. Realmuto C

Brandon Marsh LF

Edmundo Sosa 3B

Johan Rojas CF

Christopher Sanchez P

The Mets will turn to RHP Luis Severino for game 2. Severino this season pitched to a 11-7 record with a 3.91 era. Severino has given up 4 runs in each of his last 2 starts, so the Phillies will need to put some runs on the board today. Here’s how the Mets will lineup today:

Francisco Lindor SS

Mark Vientos 3B

Brandon Nimmo LF

Pete Alonso 1B

Jose Iglesias 2B

JD Martinez DH

Starling Marte RF

Francisco Alvarez C

Harrison Bader CF

Luis Severino P

The Mets switch up their lineup with the left handed Sanchez on the mound, inserting Martinez and Bader.
