Phillies Secure 6-4 Victory Against Diamondbacks in Phoenix

The Phillies began the final series of their road trip tonight in Phoenix, Arizona against the Diamondbacks gaining a much-needed 6-4 win to fire up the team going into a challenging series.
Kolby Allard took the mound in his third start of the 2024 season against a red-hot Diamondbacks offense that he was able to hold off for 5 innings before letting up only 1 run in his outing.
The first run of the game came off a Diamondbacks as Eugenio Suarez was able to send a ball over the fence in left field to put the Diamondbacks ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the 5th.
Very soon after, the Phillies responded with a Weston Wilson double that scored Nick Castellanos and tied the game at 1-1.
That same inning the Phillies were able to load up the bases for Trea Turner who has been struggling as of recently. Turner overcame the narrative by slicing a ball into center field buying enough time for 2 runners to score to put the Phillies ahead 3-1.
Harper followed, sending a blooper into right field which brought Scwarber home to score adding to their lead and making it a 4-1 ballgame.
Orion Kerkering made fans hold their breath as he fought through a tough inning. Orion would end up letting a 2 run home run off the bat of Jake McCarthy that would draw in 2 runs and tighten up the game at 4-3.
The Phillies would continue to respond though as J.T. Realmuto would absolutely launch a ball into center field 430 feet to extend the Phillies’ lead to 5-3
Deep in the game during the top of the ninth, Edmundo Sosa drew in the sixth run for the Phillies with a double down the right field line that scored Realmuto making it 6-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Diamondbacks would attempt a comeback with McCarthy once again recording an RBI with a single that would score Perdomo making it a 6-4 ballgame.
The comeback would be unsuccessful though as Carlos Estevez would eventually shut them down and give the Phillies the first win of the series in Phoenix.
