Phillies postpone Opening Day to Friday due to rain

For the third year in a row, the Phillies home opener will be on a Friday.
With the forecast throughout the morning and afternoon Thursday not looking too dry and the off-day Friday, the Phillies’ Opening Day against the Atlanta Braves has been postponed by a day. Same time, 3:05 first pitch.
The MLB gives the teams a cushion during opening weekend with a scheduled off-day. It usually becomes necessary in at least one or two cities, as it did a year ago when the Phillies were forced to move their home opener back a day because of a similar forecast. They opened on a Friday in 2022 due to the lockout.
All times remain the same on Friday. The gates open at 12:35 and the pregame festivities begin at 2:20. And the pitchers do not change either. Will still be Zack Wheeler vs. Spencer Strider.
All tickets for Thursday’s sold-out game will be valid for admission on Friday.
