The Sixers lost an infuriating game Wednesday night at home to the Grizzlies 115-109. Philadelphia is repeatedly unable to close tight games or even hold on to big leads and it is becoming a massive problem.

The Sixers had a 12-point lead going into the 4th and held the lead up to about the 3-minute mark and never recovered. Memphis went on a 34-16 run to finish the game and the Sixers played abysmal defense.

Mark Jackson said post-game, “It’s okay to fail,” and he is 100% right. It is completely alright to fall short sometimes. But to stop leaving it all on the court because Jaren Jackson Jr. is too hard to guard is completely unacceptable and it could be expected that a lot of running will be happening in Camden tomorrow.

Philadelphia has consistently come up short in games where the game was right there for the taking and Wednesday was no different.

The loss tonight brought Philly into the Play-In Tournament territory for the time being and now instead of trying to catch the 1 seed, they are trying to catch a playoff spot.

Hopefully, when Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey return, things will change and the Sixers will return to the top of the East.
