The Sixers fell to the Celtics in a disappointing 117-99 loss in the TD Garden. This marks Philadelphia’s 12th loss in the past 16 games and really hurts the Sixers who are looking for a Playoff push.

With about 3:30 remaining, Philadelphia was down just 89-91, but a horrible shot by Cam Payne allowed Boston to on a massive 26-10 run to finish the game. Had the Sixers just stopped slacking or Tobias Harris stopped missing layups and open shots, the outcome of this game would have been entirely different. In a game where people needed to step up, nobody took on the challenge and Philadelphia folded under pressure.

One player who is always giving their all is Tyrese Maxey. Maxey dropped 32 points on Boston on Tuesday Night and was simply unguardable at times. He wasn’t just a dominant scorer, but he also shared the wealth by feeding his teammates with 5 assists. It was unfortunate that nobody else felt like they needed to give 100% effort at the end of a close game.

The 76ers take on the Charlotte Hornets on Friday at Home in a game where they will want to get back on track. Philly really needs to get their act together and they need to do it fast.
