The New Norm? — Sixers Blown Out by Mavericks

The Sixers’ first game after the Joel Embiid procedure announcement did not go well. Dallas took down Philadelphia 118-102 in the Wells Fargo Center.

This is the 76ers’ 6th loss in the past 7 games and currently sit at the 5 seed in the East.

Philadelphia stayed in this game for its entirety but in the 4th quarter, Dallas was able to pull away. They outscored the Sixers by 20 total points in the 2nd half, scoring 65 points compared to Philly’s 45. The scoring was not impressive in this game for the Sixers at all.

Luka Doncic had a mediocre-at-best game, but Tyrese Maxey and Co. weren’t able to take advantage. Despite holding Doncic to only 19 points in 15 shots. A key reason for this was due to Maxey getting into foul trouble early, having 3 fouls in the first quarter alone. Kyrie Irving and Josh Green led the way with 23 and 20 points, respectively.

It’s going to be tough for the Sixers to play without their superstar Embiid, but it’s a reality they’re going to have to face. Someone has to step up and if nobody does, this team could be in big trouble.
