It took the Eagles just 12 short days into the offseason to completely switch up to coaching staff. Sean Desai, Matt Patricia, and Brian Johnson were all let go within just days of each other and they have now found the replacement for all 3 of them, most recently hiring Kellen Moore to be the new Offensive Coordinator, per Adam Schefter.

The former Chargers and Cowboys OC has had plenty of experience in the NFL. Moore spent his collegiate career at Boise State and played 6 seasons in the NFL as a backup QB for the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys.

Following his retirement in 2018, Moore was signed back to the Cowboys as a Quarterback’s Coach and in 2019 was promoted to Offensive Coordinator. In early 2023, Dallas and Moore mutually agreed to part ways, and just one day after this Brandon Staley and the Chargers signed him to be their OC.

In Moore’s 6 years at the OC or QB’s coaching role, his teams went a combined 53-46 and made the playoffs 3 out of 6 times. The difference in the 2024-2025 season is that now he has a Super Bowl-caliber offense and all he needs to do is capitalize on the star power that the Eagles possess, unlike Brian Johnson.

  1. Great choice. Moore was an unbelievable QB at Boise State, and was a good OC with the Chargers and Cowboys. Should make a big difference with the Eagles offense.
