Jason Kelce reportedly calls it a career following Wild Card loss to Buccaneers

Jason Kelce was very emotional on the sidelines and was near tears at his locker post-game as he politely declined to talk to reporters after the Eagles’ embarrassing 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to end their season.

It seemed the writing was on the wall for a thing that had been considered in the last few seasons, retirement. The future Hall of Famer has decided to hang up his cleats, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Kelce reportedly told multiple teammates in the locker room Monday night about his decision.

The list of achievements for Kelce continued to increase in his final, 13th season with being voted to another Pro Bowl and making his sixth All-Pro.

Kelce transformed the center position during his career in Philadelphia, helped bring the city its first Super Bowl title, and produced one of the most iconic parade speeches of all time in a Mummers suit. He embraced everything it means to be a Philadelphia Eagle, on and off the field, and never once thought the expectations of fans were too much.

Having to say goodbye to one of the best players to ever play for the Eagles is going to be tough, especially for those who considered Kelce as their favorite Eagle of all time (a.k.a me). He set the franchise record this season for consecutive starts, and that was not because he avoided injuries, he played through anything and everything.

Kelce is buying up land in a neighborhood in Pennsylvania to build a giant mansion, so he is not going too far.

There will be many tributes to the legend over the next few days and months. He sure deserves every single one.
