The 76ers beat the Nuggets 126-121 on Tuesday Night at home in a close victory. Joel Embiid‘s 16-game streak of at least 30 points and 10 rebounds ended, but he made up for it with his 2nd straight 40-point game, scoring 41. Embiid has 8 40-point games, which is good enough for the most in the entire NBA.

Embiid’s 30-point, 10-rebound streak may have ended, but his performance against Denver was still extraordinary. 41 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds in 43 minutes for Embiid while playing in a back-to-back is special and was the difference maker in this one.

This highly anticipated matchup between the 2020 and 2021 MVP in Nikola Jokic and the 2022 MVP in Joel Embiid was peak entertainment, with both teams putting up 78 points by Halftime. This 156-point first-half total was the most total first-half-points in all of the 2023-2024 season.

‘The Joker’ may have fallen to ‘The Process’ in this one, but he stayed upright in this heavyweight battle, scoring 25 points with an outstanding 19 rebounds. It took Embiid and the Sixers all 4 quarters to pull away with this one, with Joel making a late-game 3-point play to put the nail in the coffin.

Philadelphia showed they can hang with anybody, even the reigning NBA Champs.

The Sixers travel to Orlando on Friday to take on the 22-18 Magic. Philly looks to take over Milwaukee for the 2 seed in the East, as they only lay 1.5 games behind them.
