Sixers Take Down Kings — Tobias Harris Puts Up 37

The Sixers took down the Sacramento Kings 112-93 on Friday Night in Philadelphia, led by Tobias Harris‘s 37-point performance. Joel Embiid was out once again with injury, but the Sixers prevailed and pushed forward for their 24th win of the season.

The Sixers still hold the 3 seed in the East and look to catch Milwaukee and Boston in the race for the 1 seed.

Tobias Harris demonstrated pure dominance on Friday, putting up an impressive 37 points. Harris has been in multiple trade rumors since the offseason, but games like this quiet the haters. He didn’t need Joel Embiid to help him get to this large amount of points and he likely benefited from Embiid’s absence. This is a bright spot in Tobias’s season so far, as it has looked bleak recently. He is averaging 17 points per game this year, but he is very inconsistent so this game was a great way to build momentum with the All-Star Break coming up.

Philadelphia’s defense was top-tier on Friday as they only allowed 93 points. Sacramento’s star De’Aaron Fox had major issues getting points on the board and was getting dominated offensively, too. Fox ended with just 21 points, which is below its game average. Former All-Star Domantas Sabonis in 33 minutes was only able to score 14 points, a lackluster amount for a great player. The Kings shot just 21% from three and 33% from the field, thanks to the stifling D by Philadelphia.

The Sixers will do battle with the Houston Rockets at home on Monday Night, but chances are most of Philly won’t be watching as their Eagles take on Tampa Bay in the NFC Wild Card Round. If they do decide to turn on the game, they will see an interesting matchup between rising star Alperen Sengun and possibly the return of Joel Embiid.
