The Philadelphia 76ers met the Detroit Pistons for the second time in three days and the matchup just like Monday served up Joel Embiid domination Sixers cruised to their fifth straight win, 124-92.

The big story of the night was Joel Embiid surpassing Wilt Chamberlain in most consecutive games with 30 points and 10 rebounds at nine straight. He accomplished this feat midway through the third quarter and finished with 35 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Embiid for the eighth time this year did not play in the fourth quarter. You could tell very quickly that the game plan was to get the ball into Joel’s hands and let him go to work. it seemed like every time they were down on the offensive end he would touch the ball, something that the Sixers definitely should utilize going forward, especially against undersize teams, such as the Pistons.

His supporting cast tonight included the likes of Tyrese Maxey, who did not shoot well from three tonight but finished with 19 points and 4 assists. Marcus Morris Sr. came in off the bench and went 5-5 from downtown, surpassing his most made threes in a game this season. Tobias Harris added 13 and Kelly Oubre Jr tacked on 11 for the Sixers.

The Pistons, who have been abysmal for about a month, continue to struggle and were obviously outmatched by Embiid and the Sixers tonight. James Wiseman led the way with 20 points and 13 rebounds while Bojan Bogdanovic added 15 points. It’s been a rough go for the Pistons as they have now lost 22 straight closing in on the all-time record set by the Philadelphia 76ers at 26 games in a row.

This was the first leg of a back-to-back for the Sixers as they now travel to Charlotte to take on the Hornets tomorrow at 7 PM Eastern. The Sixers are now 17-7.
