28-year-old Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine and the Bulls front office have mutually agreed that his time with Chicago is running out and are looking for a trade partner. The 76ers are one of the teams linked with the Bulls for a trade, but the question lies if he would fit in Philadelphia.

Would Daryl Morey take a risk and go and trade for this star?

The answer is probably not.

With the Sixers being a clear top 3 team in the NBA right now, there seems to be no reason to change anything. Daryl Morey is known for being stubborn when it comes to trading and that is exactly what a fanbase should want. The only way Morey would trade for LaVine would be if it was for pennies on the dollar and that likely wouldn’t go over well in Chicago. Zach LaVine is a 2x Dunk Contest Champion and has made back-to-back All-Star games the past two seasons and would make an immediate impact offensively for Philadelphia. However, having a Tyrese Maxey and Zach LaVine backcourt is a recipe for disaster defensively. LaVine is known to be an elite offensive player, but a bench-worthy defensive player.

Tyrese Maxey has excelled early in the season and it has clearly shown that too much star power holds him back. When James Harden was on the Sixers last year he held Maxey to 20.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Without Harden, Maxey has already flourished into a star averaging 28.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 7 assists. Zach LaVine has a high chance of holding back Maxey again and that is definitely not wanted.

Zach LaVine could be a star with the Sixers, but he could also hold back Tyrese Maxey and the red-hot 76ers. Daryl Morey has a decision to make if he wants this 2x All-Star.
