The Birds took down the Rams in Los Angeles in a 9-point victory, winning 23-14.
Jalen Hurts led the game in passing and rushing yards. He threw for 303 yards and ran for 72. A.J. Brown had the most receiving yards, putting up 127 in 6 receptions.
The game-changer in this game was clearly time of possession. Philadelphia dominated the Rams when it came to time with the ball. Los Angeles had about 22 minutes of offense, while the Eagles had about 38 minutes.
The defense showed up to play even without star DT Fletcher Cox. The Rams did not score once in the 2nd half, giving up all 14 points in the 1st. Jalen Carter had 3 tackles, 2 of them being sacks and Haason Reddick also had 2 sacks. Reddick’s 2 sacks were the most vital as they came back to-back at the end of the game, sealing a victory for the Eagles.
The Eagles hit Matthew Stafford 8 times, 3 times from Reddick, twice from Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat respectively, and once by Zach Cunningham. Reed Blankenship led the team in tackles with 7.
Clearly, the absence of Cox did not affect the Eagles.
Next week the Eagles take on New York Jets in a game that will be very entertaining. Zach Wilson is finally getting on a roll and the Philly defense is going to have to throw everything they have to stop them. Jalen Hurts is going to try and continue his excellent passing and A.J. Brown will attempt to continue his tear receiving. You can watch this game on FOX at 4:25 EST/1:25 PST.
