The Philadelphia 76ers have released their new NBA City Edition uniform for the 2022-23 season.
The jersey finally takes on Philadelphia’s nickname, the City of Brotherly Love, the first professional sports team in the city to wear the saying. It also takes on the city’s rich history of basketball.
The all white jersey isn’t too much to marvel at, it’s actually quite bland. Last year the Sixers went with throwback Spectrum uniforms that were well received by the fans. The reactions to the Brotherly Love jersey have been mixed.
The shorts feature the circle of stars on the waistband as well as the bicentennial 76. The court will be unveiled when the team wears the jersey for the first time.
Overall, I would rank it a 7/10, this jersey doesn’t beat the Rocky, Boathouse Row, or Spectrum jersey. But it’s better than the original Phila cream and Philadelphia with the Liberty Bell crack on the side. They went with something different and I respect that.
The jerseys will be worn eight times during the season and debut on November 13th against the Utah Jazz. They are available online starting today at 10 PM ET.
