Beginning the 2022-2023 Flyers season

With the horrible season the Flyers had last year, there is a lot of pressure on the players and the coaching staff to find a way to get a culture back in the locker room.

Last season, the Flyers went 25-46-11, the second-worst record in franchise history. They even fired their coach and traded their captain, Claude Giroux, away.

The first step to getting this team back on track starts in training camp. It was a hard camp, but it was expected with the arrival of new head coach John Tortorella. The good thing about that is that he put a high standard of what every player should bring.

Tortorella was clear about that: if you don’t show up you won’t play.

From a management point of view, Chuck Fletcher doesn’t look like he is planning to tank to have a chance at the first-round pick but with the multiple injuries like Ryan Ellis, who is most likely going to miss the season, and the surprising injury during the training camp period of Sean Couturier it does look like the Flyers will finish in the bottom of the league.

Although, I think that a surprise is possible with a good attitude and a work ethic that will bring John Tortorella and his coaching staff can see a better team that can be hard to play against.

We will have to find out starting Thursday with the opening night against the New Jersey Devils.
