After a great 3 days of drafts and trades by Howie Roseman, the Eagles are going to be looking forward to the 3rd easiest schedule according to Sports Illustrated. There will be some great match-ups and rivalries this season. This is not going to be a season your gonna wanna miss.
Side note. The process of the Eagles’ best move this off-season isn’t realized by many. Philadelphia traded Carson Wentz to the Colts for a 2021 3rd and a conditional 2nd that became a 1st (16th pick this year) when Wentz played over 75% of offensive snaps for Indy. That first was then traded along with the 19th overall pick for a first this year (18th overall), a first next year, and a few more picks. Then, Howie traded the 18th pick and a 3rd rounder (no. 101) for A.J. Brown. Carson Wentz has now turned into 2 first-round picks and A.J. Brown. Maybe Wentz was the future.
The Eagles have a relatively easy schedule this season. In my opinion, the most exciting matchups are the Cowboys, Commanders, Titans, and Packers.
The Cowboys traded away their best receiver for a bag of Doritos and lost Randy Gregory to the Broncos but then when you think they couldn’t do any worse, they passed on a replacement at the defensive end and drafted a not needed lineman. The Eagles play them on October 16th (Sunday Night Football) and on Christmas Eve.
The big matchup everyone is looking forward to is the Washington Commanders and new QB Carson Wentz. Washington drafted Jahan Dotson when they didn’t need him. Darius Slay will lock up Terry McLaurin and the game will most likely be over by the end of the first quarter. The Eagles should annihilate them. The big game at home is on November 14th on Monday Night Football.
Another player vs. his old team is A.J. Brown against the Titans. This will be an exciting matchup. Let’s face it, the Titans never knew how to use Brown, they played him through injuries and if he was never traded to the Eagles, he was probably done in the NFL by his late 20s. The Eagles will either play a struggling Ryan Tannehill or an unready Malik Willis. I personally believe that the Titans’ front office is a lot worse than it seems and their franchise will come crumbling down. They will face off on December 4th.
The last match-up I am excited for is when the Eagles play the Green Bay Packers at home. The Packers are on their downfall and will come crashing down soon. Davante Adams is gone. Jordan Love will be done with his rookie contract before Aaron Rodgers is done with his mega-deal. The Packers barely have any weapons on offense. That is not why I am excited about this matchup. I am excited about the cornerback-wide receiver matchup of A.J. Brown vs. Jaire Alexander. A top 10 WR vs. a top 5 CB when healthy. This will be a matchup for the ages. This is probably Brown’s chance to prove himself as the best WR in the 2019 draft class and in the NFC East. This game is on November 27th.
This NFL season should be very exciting. The Eagles have the pieces in place to win the East. The NFC should be pretty easy to get far in the playoffs. Almost every amazing player now belongs to someplace in the AFC West. The Eagles will most likely finish someplace in the range of 12-14 wins. In my opinion, all the pieces are in place to win now. It is going to be a bright future for all of Philly sports. Probably not the Flyers, but you never know.
