The Flyers will reportedly sign defensemen Keith Yandle to a one year $900K contract once free agency opens up on Wednesday.

Yandle, a 34-year-old veteran, is good friends with Kevin Hayes and has also played under Alain Vigneault with the New York Rangers.

In 56 games last season, Yandle scored three goals and had just 27 points. His roles on the ice have slipped considerably since his days with the Arizona Coyotes.

However, despite the low point totals, Yandle’s known for being one of the best offense first defensemen in the NHL. Oh yeah, he’s also just 43 games away from breaking Doug Jarvis’ record for consecutive games played.

He’s the NHL’s Iron Man!

The Flyers have now brought in three new defensemen after their abysmal play last year.

General manager Chuck Fletcher hopes Ryan Ellis, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Yandle will all help the blue line.

Fletcher has had a pretty nice week for himself and we’ll see how it all plays out on the ice soon enough.
