What to watch as Phillies look for their 6th straight win

After some disappointing play, the 18-15 Philadelphia Phillies have won five-straight. They’ll look to make it seven Saturday night in six against the 15-17 Braves.
Here’ what to watch
Velasquez gets the start
Phillies’ starter Vince Velasquez has earned his sixth-straight start in place of left-hander Matt Moore.
Velasquez pitched six innings allowing only one run in Monday’s 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. It was the second time since 2019 where Velasquez has completed six innings.
Hoskins out of lineup
First baseman Rhys Hoskins will not start Saturday’s game against Atlanta.
Hoskins’ power is as present as ever this season, as his eight home runs tie him for ninth in the league. His plate discipline has been strangely absent, however, as his 33.6% strikeout rate and 6.6% walk rate are both way worse than his career 24.1% strikeout rate and 14.6% walk rate. Despite those shaky numbers, there’s been no indication that his day off Saturday is anything other than a routine one.
Brad Miller starts at first base in his absence.
