The 2021 NFL salary cap is officially set. The league has officially informed teams that it’ll be at $182.5 million, which is halfway through the expected range between $180 million and $185 million.
2020’s cap was obviously impacted by COVID-19, like everything else. The cap has been rising and rising over the years, but it’s down this year after being set at $198.2 million in 2020.
Still, the $182.5 million figure offers a little good news to the Philadelphia Eagles. They were previously projected to be about $31.1 million over the cap, per Over The Cap. Now they’re down to $29.1 million.
Factor in Wednesday’s news that the Eagles restructured Isaac Seumalo’s contract, and the Eagles should be down to about $26.7 million over. It’s expected that Brandon Graham and Lane Johnson restructured contracts will help their situation this year (Jason Kelce and Darius Slay contract adjustments have already been accounted for).
