Vince Velasquez and Phillies reach deal to avoid arbitration

Vinny V is coming back ladies and gentlemen!
Vince Velasquez and the Philadelphia Phillies have reached a deal to avoid arbitration. The deal is worth $4 million for 2021.
Velasquez is now heading into his seventh big-league season, and Velasquez continues to fail to take the next step. But he’s just useful enough for the Phillies to keep him around at a fairly low price.
Velasquez’s 5.56 ERA in 34 innings last season was a career high, though his 4.16 FIP and 4.07 xFIP painted a much more optimistic picture, as did his career-high 29.9 percent strikeout rate.
All I’m going to say, don’t you want to save some money for JT?
