The Eagles have their Jeff Stoutland replacement.

Earlier today, it was announced that former Vikings offensive line coach Chris Kuper is being hired by the Eagles, and it shows even more that new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion is building a brand new offensive staff.

Kuper coached under Vic Fangio with the Broncos from 2019 to 2021 as the assistant offensive line coach and spent the last four years as Kevin O’Connell‘s offensive line coach. Kuper’s contract expired at the end of the 2025 season, making him a coaching free agent before the Eagles hired him.

The connection to Mannion helps out Kuper, as Mannion was the backup for the Vikings in 2023 when Kuper was on the staff. Mannion is in full control of the offensive staff, and it’s good to see the Eagles with a fresh new look beneath Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman.

The Vikings’ offensive line in 2025 allowed 60 sacks, which was second-worst, 31st in the league in sacks allowed. Key players like Christian Darrisaw, Brian O’Neill, and Ryan Kelly missed significant time, with five different starting lineups for offensive linemen used throughout their season. The Vikings also struggled mightily in pass protection throughout the year.

For Kuper, he’s stepping into big shoes. The departure of Stoutland is serious, as someone who has coached some of the greatest offensive linemen in Eagles history. Kuper will also take advantage of the immense amount of talent the Eagles have on the o-line and hopefully keep the Eagles’ reputation for having one of the best offensive lines in the league.

Still, though, the possibility of both Landon Dickerson and Lane Johnson retiring isn’t going to help. The Eagles’ O-line could be drastically different come September and these next few seasons, and Kuper will look to recreate the same success Stoutland brought to Philadelphia.
