Phillies-Mets scheduled for Monday night is postponed causes tough doubleheader

Monday’s Philadelphia Phillies-New York Mets game at Citi Field was postponed because of rain and will be made up Tuesday as part of a doubleheader beginning at 4:10 P.M. E.S.T.
As were all the doubleheaders in 2020, both games will be seven innings.
Game two will start approximately 30 minutes after game one, but no earlier than 7:10 P.M. E.S.T.
The pitching matchups for the first two games of the series were supposed to be Chase Anderson VS David Peterson Monday and Aaron Nola VS Taijuan Walker Tuesday.
The Phillies may have to get creative in one of the games because if not, Anderson would be forced to start on short rest in his next start Saturday. Fans may not like it, but Vince Velasquez could be a consideration.
The Mets were also rained out Sunday after playing one-third of an inning. Through the season’s first 12 days, the Mets have played just five games to the Phillies’ nine.
Their opening series was postponed when several Washington Nationals players tested positive for COVID-19.
With this rainout, the Phillies will now play 27 games in 27 days starting Tuesday. Their only day off between April 13 and May 9 is April 22.
